Fort Lewis College is Colorado’s public liberal arts college, focused on
preparing students for success in their careers and service to their
communities.
Located in Durango at the crossroads of the Rocky Mountains and the
desert Southwest, the college uses its Four Corners setting as an outdoor
laboratory.
Nearly 4,200 students are enrolled in 26 baccalaureate degree programs in
the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Natural
and Behavioral Sciences, the School of Business Administration and the
Teacher Education Department.
Five Fort Lewis academic disciplines have earned the prestigious Program of
Excellence distinction by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, more
than any other small college in the state.
Four Fort Lewis professors have earned CASE Colorado Professor of the
Year awards, more than any other public or private college or university in
the state.
